The aim is to provide the students with a solid ground to practice successfully as a construction engineer by conveying knowledge of current technologies used in civil engineering construction.

 The aims of this module are;

  • To equip students with theoretical and practical knowledge in Engineering Surveying.
  • To impart necessary skills to operate Surveying Instruments in the field.
  • To develop the necessary skills and knowledge to adapt surveying principles to solve industrial problems.

This module aims to equip students with core knowledge of analysing fluid flows through the proper use of simplifying assumptions and basic fluid-flow principles, fluid-flow phenomena observed in engineering systems, namely pipe flow, hydraulic transients, boundary-layer flows, and turbo machinery.

This module aims to introduce the basic concepts of Environmental Engineering in terms of analysis of environmental pollution and sustainability

Introduce fundamental engineering science concepts related to fluid mechanics and provide an understanding of the basic principles of fluid mechanics and their application to analyze simple fluid flow problems.

In Mechanics of Materials, the student will learn about the behavior of structural elements under various loading conditions. The module aims to develop relationships between external forces applied and the resulting deformation and stress within the material. The key concepts include stress, which is the internal force per unit area, and strain, which represents the material's deformation. The study involves analyzing how materials respond to different types of loads, such as tension, compression, and shear, and predicting their structural behavior. Mechanics of Materials is crucial for designing and analyzing structures and components in engineering applications, ensuring that materials can withstand the forces they encounter in real-world scenarios.

The Aim of the module is;

To give an overview of structural elements, construction processes and materials related to civil engineering; and basic concepts, theories and methods of Engineering Surveying
