This module will:

  • prepare the student to transform practical or theoretical engineering problems in to solvable mathematical problems.
  • provide a fundamental knowledge for how to use the mathematical tools mastered so far into engineering problem solving through modeling.

Aims of the module

1: To identify the need to systematically locate, figure out and synthesise relevant information

2: To demonstrate critical reading and analytical skills, including comprehending an argument's major assertions and assumptions, and how to weigh its supporting evidence.

3: To outline research skills, figure out one’s own thought with those of others, and pertain the conventions of attribution and citation correctly.

4: To apply standard written English and revise and edit the writing for appropriateness on the format, syntax, grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
